About US

Aerostructures has a reputation for product excellence dating from its founder's involvement on the Spirit of St. Louis to the company's current role developing technologies. Here's a snapshot of who we are and why we remain one of the world's most respected aerospace industry suppliers . . .
  • Aerostructures holds a leading share of the world market for its core products. We are the world's leading independent full-service sup[plier of nacelles, thrust reversers and pylons.
  • In addition to its core products, Aerostructures applies its exacting systems integration, specialized engineering, and one-of-a-kind processes to a whole range of specialized aerostructures. These products include lightweight, temperature-resistant APU tailcones for regional jetliners, damage-tolerant rigid cargo barriers for freighter aircraft, and corrosion-resistant structures for tactical military aircraft.
  • Aerostructures customer base includes the world's foremost airframe builders (Airbus and Boeing) and premier engine manufacturers (GE, Pratt & Whitney, Rolls-Royce, International Aero Engines, and CFM International).
  • Aerostructures provides direct support to over 450 airlines. Approximately 90% of the aircraft in the world's commercial aircraft fleet (excluding aircraft manufactured in the former USSR) contain one or more Aerostructures Group products.
  • Headquartered in Chula Vista, California, Aerostructures has a worldwide workforce of over 3,500 at four domestic facilities and four international locations. The domestic facilities are in: Riverside, California (bonded structures, assembly); San Marcos, Texas (high temperature aerostructures); and Foley, Alabama (assembly and repair and overhaul). International locations include: Toulouse, France (assembly, engine buildup for Airbus Industrie); Hamburg, Germany (assembly, engine buildup, nacelle painting for Airbus Industrie); Singapore (repair and overhaul); and Prestwick, Scotland (repair and overhaul).
  • Aerostructures enjoys unique industry status as a full-service supplier. The Group manages the design, tooling, manufacturing, certification, and delivery of complete nacelle systems in partnership with its airframe, engine, and airline customers. Following product delivery, Aerostructures offers life-of-service spare part, technical support, and repair resources through its global Customer Support Network.
  • Aerostructures is a leading practitioner of such progressive design and manufacturing philosophies as Lean Desing/Manufacturing and Lean Product Development.
  • Based on the Toyota Production System, Lean Design/Manufacturing solicits every employee's involvement in defining each product's value stream - the series of specific activities needed to get from raw material to finished item. Aerostructures then uses week-long Lean events involving employees, customers, and suppliers to eliminate unnecessary steps from every value stream. The result? Through the use of Lean tools, Aerostructures has realized 50% improvements in product build hours and flow times in many areas. The Group has also been able to support dramatic customer production rate increases and also absorb additional work with no increase in resources.
